This morning, I was sitting on the floor with my 2.5-year-old, playing. He pulled out his box of blocks, which also happened to have some large beads inside. He exclaimed, “Ooo, I love beads!”—a word I didn’t even know he knew (an increasingly regular occurrence these days).
We started playing with the beads and “pretend eating” them (for my mom, who’s probably reading this: they are VERY large beads, so no choking risk if accidentally swallowed).
Recently, I taught him that little trick to make it look like you are eating something by turning your face to the side and sliding the item down the outside of your cheek - you know the drill.
So I turned to the side, took the large cube bead and pretended to eat it…except this time I pretended like I didn’t like it. I looked at my son and gave him a pretend-concerned look and ‘spit’ it back up.
